We will also Discuss during Announcements (4/9/24) plans for the upcoming April Columbus Zoo Campout. April 26th-28th. We will likely vote on a few things, but since Scouts typically vote for "lets do everything, regardless of cost and time issues for my parents". I wanted to share a few key items with parents:
Friday Departure time: Considering leaving early (meet at 4:30 Depart ASAP but by 5). Getting dinner at fast food on the way (additional $10 cost). If this will be a hardship for your family please be sure to let us know, or have your Scout tell us tonight.
Campout Cost: $85/scout $80/adult (includes the Ohio Caverns fees)
Sunday Morning Activity - We wanted to find something to stop and do on the way home to make all the driving/short trip more worth it. We're planning to do Ohio Caverns - $24 Per person. https://ohiocaverns.com/
There was a discussion about Raise Right at the last committee meeting and if anyone (e.g. new scouts' parents) would be interested in learning more about. If there's enough interest then perhaps a quick meeting to discuss how it works and the benefits it could provide for funding your scout's due and camping trips. The Raise Right website is easy to use and allow you to purchase [physical and electronic gift cards with a percentage of the gist card amount going towards your scout's funding account. Percentages range from 1-2% for chain stores (e.g. Meijer, Amazon, Home Depot, etc) and upwards of 20% for more dining/entertainment types of shopping (e.g. movies, chain restaurants and fast food). Specials deals with a boost in percentage kick back can be found around Thanksgiving.
Please see the Raise Right website to learn more about what percentage kick backs are available to stores you already shop at https://www.raiseright.com/
I've attached a sample screen shot of Percentage kick backs
